Materials Scientist
About the role
The position focuses on basic and applied research projects involving characterization and processing of ceramics and ceramic composites. Primary research responsibilities will be to support the production of new ceramic powders, sinter samples and layup composites. The position requires working closely with government and contract researchers within the research team and with other research teams.

Requirements
- Working within a government facility and requires U.S. Citizenship
- MS or Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering, Polymer Chemistry, Chemistry, Ceramic Engineering or a related field
- Experience with materials processing and characterization
- Able to learn and develop new approaches and techniques
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated individual with good interpersonal skills and careful attention to details
- Adaptable to varying program objectives
Qualifications
- Desired Qualifications include experience with ceramic and/or composite processing and characterization, powder processing, sintering, and characterization, experience with SEMs, TEMs, sample polishing, TGA, XRD, rheometry and/or dilatometry

ITAR Requirement
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
