Materials Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for the Supply Chain Function, including full accountability for all materials at the Durand site. The role also supports NPPD and works directly with key stakeholders to drive the function forward.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and execute Supply Chain and Purchasing Strategies and Policies aligned with corporate initiatives, using Lean Techniques to support the wider business.
• Define, implement, and regularly improve supply chain KPIs and targets, ensuring clear time plans to reach them.
• Day-to-day management of the Supply Chain Function, including all aspects of people management (Performance Reviews, Disciplinary, Talent Development).
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking.
• Assist and work with group-level commodity buyers to identify suppliers, gather quotes, assess lead time, and place orders.
• Support the ECO process and related procurement activity.
• Inventory Management – including accurate Cycle Counting (>95% Target for both $ value and unit count), management of raw material, and completion of month-end process.
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, Finance, and Production to ensure compliance with the reject note process and minimize impact to production.
• Assist with loading material demand into the MRP System.
• Facilitate the flow of material and finished goods shipments through 3rd Party Logistic Suppliers, including international shipments and expediting as required.
• Support leadership team in all SQDCM (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Moral) objectives.
• Perform any other duties as deemed appropriate to the role.

Requirements

• BS in Supply Chain (CIPS), Business Administration, and/or 2+ years of experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a materials management or materials supervisory role.

Qualifications

• Experience managing procurement spend up to $20M.
• Strong experience/knowledge of ERP/MRP Systems (Oracle a strong plus).
• Proven track record of managing teams.
• Evidence of the ability to implement and work toward targets and KPIs to improve performance.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to meet on-time delivery targets.
• Proven experience with low-cost country sourcing project management.
• Effective sourcing and vendor management experience.
• Strong leadership capabilities.
