Responsibilities
- Ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of supplies used in Perioperative Services.
- Reviewing OR patient supply charges.
- Pulling supplies for OR cases.
- Maintaining adequate inventory in a cost-effective manner utilizing UNC System, GPO and local contracts when available.
- Assisting in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of Par Station locations and/or perpetual inventories.
- Coordinating “inventory return” items in a timely manner.
- Coordinating “inventory recall” and “corrective actions” in a timely manner.
- Operating and coordinating the OR-MMIS supply system(s).
- Participating in OR value analysis, product conversions, and new product introductions.
- Coordinating and implementing vendor admittance to the hospital.
- Ensuring the Vendor and Product Value Analysis policies are consistently applied.
- Collecting, reviewing, and analyzing data.
- Making recommendations for department performance improvement.
- Identifying, resolving, and communicating problems to appropriate teammates.
- Supporting, preparing for, and participating in annual inventory activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years’ Supply Chain experience in a surgical/procedural setting.
- Substantial knowledge of hospital peri-operative inventory control.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to troubleshoot problems, and demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and interdisciplinary team members.
- Able to work well under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Inventory and Financial Systems, and experience with product standardization.
- Adhere to the organization’s code of conduct and dress code standards.
- Able to lift (up to 50 pounds), stand, and stock without any physical limitations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration preferred / Associate’s degree is acceptable.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License (NCDL) Surgical Tech (ST) certification acceptable / Central Sterile Services Tech (CSST) certification acceptable.
