Materials Management/OR Specialist

Responsibilities

• Keying and promptly putting away all supplies within the OR.
• Reviewing inventory levels.
• Picking scheduled surgical cases.
• Handling emergency supply requests.

This role requires a detailed understanding of the ordering process, inventory management, surgical supply acquisition expertise, independent judgment, and discretion in decision-making and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Associate’s degree preferred.
• Experience: 1-3 years’ experience with hospital inventory control, including computerized Supply Chain Information systems, preferred. Surgical supply-related experience is preferred.
• Certification/Registration: None required.

Physical Requirements

• Work involves walking, standing, twisting (trunk and neck), bending (waist), flexing/extending (neck), gripping/grasping, fine manipulation/pinching, and reaching above/below shoulder level.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 pounds.

• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility. Ability to multi-task and maintain detailed attention in an environment with interruptions. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May require irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, for operational and community events.

Pay

The compensation range for this role is $23.86 - $24.58 hourly.
