Materials Management Coordinator
Your Impact
Monitors activities of Contractors on the construction site within a discipline or multiple disciplines based on experience.
Assists the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager in the coordination of activities.
Performs materials coordination duties including but not limited to:
- Coordinate materials QA testing with RE and materials testing technicians/laboratory
- Oversee QA field testing of materials and materials sampling
- Review contractor materials submittals and evidence of inspection. Provide recommendations to RE or client/owner on acceptability of submittals
- Report materials inspection and testing according to the clients requirements
- Maintain project files related to materials inspection and testing. Provide daily inspection of construction activities
- Tests and/or samples materials
- On larger projects, may lead a group in a specific project task. Oversee materials coordination and documentation on multiple projects.
Works independently at times and may supervise observation/inspection personnel as needed.
Who You Are
- BS in Civil or Materials Engineering or related field required.
Professional Engineer license preferred.
Ability to perform more complex tasks and analysis that require applying specific engineering knowledge. - IDOT PCC & HMA Level I, II, & III training courses preferred.
IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities training required or able to be completed within 6 months of hire. - Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements
- Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, stoop, crawl, and lifting.

- Must be alert to equipment in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.
