Materials Handler

The Material Handler and Expeditor facilitates the movement, storage, and delivery of materials between company facilities, local vendors, suppliers, and customers. This role ensures the efficient handling of inventory and supports customer delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Receives inventory and non-inventory items in accordance with purchase order receiving report system.
- Stores raw material items to maximize warehouse efficiencies.
- Prepares finished goods for shipment.
- Properly identifies raw materials for storage.
- Operates forklift, company truck, and all other equipment in a safe and courteous manner.
- Assists in disposal of trash.
- Assists in preparation of finished products for shipment.
- Prevents defects and possible defects in workmanship.
- Assists in relabel, repackage, and reprocess procedures.
- Ensures warehouse is maintained in a clean and organized manner.
- Delivers production materials to and from various locations to ensure maximum operator uptime.
- Delivers non-inventory items to appropriate areas.
- Prepares records required to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Frequently moves about inside and outside the building to access offices, meeting rooms, warehouse, and manufacturing areas.
- Frequently communicates with vendors and co-workers; must exchange accurate information.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds with material handling equipment.
Work Environment
Generally works in a warehouse environment but may occasionally perform job duties in a typical office setting. Normal manufacturing conditions require safety observation at all times.
Qualifications
- Mathematical aptitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to utilize required MAPICS programs and bar code scanners
- Ability to utilize UPS, RPS, Federal Express, and similar computer systems
- Valid and current forklift certification or license
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Pay
$18.75 - $21.00 USD per hour
