About the role
Join Lakeside Book Company, the largest bookmaker in the United States, as a Forklift Driver. You will help move finished products out the door and into the hands of readers across the country.
Starting Rate: $21.00
Hours: 12-hour Night Shift; 6pm–6am (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Location: North plant, 2347 Kratzer Rd, Harrisonburg, VA 22802
Responsibilities
- Operate Clamp Forklift equipment to move large rolls of paper
- Scan containers to ensure system accuracy
- Inspect your forklift on a daily basis and service the batteries
- Process departmental paperwork
- Use a computer to access the internal company COMN system for job information
Requirements
- Previous forklift experience, including standup and sit-down forklifts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand or sit for the entire duration of your shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Previous clamp forklift experience is a plus
Preference will be given to candidates who agree to participate in cross-training, including achieving qualified status within the position and serving as a backup for lateral and progressive roles as needed.
