About the role
The Materials Engineering Technician I position at Terracon involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials. This includes communicating with various stakeholders about project requirements and testing results.
Responsibilities
- Transport material samples to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
- Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in written and digital reports.
- Communicate findings and results to the Project Manager.
- Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
- Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
- Adhere to safety standards and report any safety issues or concerns.
- Participate in pre-task planning and follow safety rules and practices.
- Maintain assigned equipment.
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of relevant experience.
- A valid driver’s license with an acceptable violation history.
Preferred Certification
- Nuclear Density Gauge certification within 6 months of hire.
Required Certification
- ACI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Related internal safety certifications upon successful completion.
