Materials Associate

Essential Job Functions

• Supports with accepting, verifying, and entering receipts for all shipments.
• Affixes package counts to ensure accuracy and accepts shipments if acceptable, otherwise follows outlined refusal protocols.
• Inventories, reorders, pulls, restocks, rotates inventory, checks expiration dates for areas of responsibility.
• Ensures verification of receipt of inbound supplies, outbound shipment processing, data entry, and restocking within specified time frames as assigned to meet department/patient needs.
• Helps expedite products to respective areas and/or storeroom locations.
• Updates and maintains par levels as necessary, makes adjustments to par forms and labels as mandated.
• Supports with obtaining signatures for deliveries and documents reasons for non-delivery.
• Responsible for inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and electronic supply replenishment.
• Helps ensure that the work area is safe, equipment is secured, and the area is free of clutter.
• Affords assistance with ensuring that linens are collected and transported within departmental/infection control guidelines for both clean and soil carts as assigned.
• Regularly supports the sorting and distribution of clean and soiled linens in order to replenish par levels as required for daily operations.
• Adheres to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protocols as communicated by department policies and Infection Prevention guidelines.
• Adheres to the environmental and infection control standards established by Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and other regulatory agencies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience Required: Service-related experience or prior job experience.
