About the role

The Material and Production Planner position offers an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. You will collaborate with innovative 3Mers around the world and make an impact by planning production schedules, procuring materials, and balancing service and inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Plan production schedules for assigned work centers to meet customer requirements while maximizing operational efficiency
  • Procure materials and communicate with suppliers on future requirements to ensure the production plan is met
  • Partner with business teams to understand customer requirements and forecasts
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team, value stream leadership, and others to prioritize and resolve supply constraints to balance service, inventory, and cost
  • Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Business Supply Chain, Quality, Supply Planning, and Demand Planning teams
  • Execute production planning standard work with supply chain tools, IT systems, and processes
  • Owning planning-related performance metrics including On-Time, In-Full shipments (OTIF), backlog, and production plan attainment for assigned work centers and managing to meet targets
  • Manage parameters including optimizing and maintaining production lot sizes, production cycles, and safety stocks to deliver the desired balance between service and inventory

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Four (4) years of supply chain experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Qualifications

  • Additional qualifications that could help you succeed include inventory management, ERP system planning experience, Microsoft Office, excellent verbal and written communication skills, organized self-starter, attention to detail, and ability to manage production lot sizes, production cycles, and safety stocks.

  • Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
  • Competitive Compensation Range: $84,595 - $103,394, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible
