About the role
The Indianapolis site of GE Aerospace manufactures complex Aerospace components for various applications. This role is part of the company's growth and transformation journey.
Responsibilities
- Ships components and/or finished products within and outside the facility.
- Performs basic tasks related to material handling in various stages of manufacturing, including counting, bagging, tagging, packing, and shipping of materials.
- Operates Forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items safely and efficiently.
- Validates cycle counts and paperwork, including reconciling discrepant counts.
- Maintains accuracy of work records and keeps workstation, tools, and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with others.
- Supports LEAN initiatives and follows and promotes safe work practices.
- Lifts light to medium weight in an environment that may occasionally require crouching, stooping, and/or awkward work positions.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of warehouse and/or manufacturing shop material management.
- 1+ year of data entry and retrieval into a material management or formal ERP system.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous fork truck driving experience or the ability to be trained and licensed to operate fork trucks and pallet moving equipment safely.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
Skills
- In simple mathematical counting.
- Experience working in stockroom, shipping, or receiving functions.
- Fork-Lift Driver License and experience.
- Truck loading experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a self-directed teaming environment.
- Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement knowledge.

Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
- Valid driver's license.
