We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Material Specialist in Pewaukee, Wisconsin.
About the role
This position is responsible for warehouse activities within a distribution center as well as at remote warehouses. It offers a variety of work that appeals to those interested in learning, problem solving, working within a team environment, and taking initiative.
Responsibilities
- Works with business units, contractors, and suppliers to define and schedule resources to meet material and service requirements.
- Orders, receives, and inventories materials using SAP.
- Monitors storeroom levels and conducts physical reviews of stock balances to investigate, verify, and adjust discrepancies for accurate inventory.
- Unloads materials, inspects for damage, and enters material/service data into the computer for identification and tracking.
- Contacts suppliers and the sourcing group to resolve shipment and invoicing problems.
- Uses equipment and hand tools to distribute materials to internal and external customers.
- Handles and prepares materials for delivery at various locations in the WE service territories.
- Coordinates packaging and site delivery of materials and equipment as requested by business units.
- Delivers materials to job sites or other service centers.
- Operates a forklift.
- Performs miscellaneous duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- Three years of warehouse and powered industrial truck experience or an Order Picker with greater than one year of experience.
- Valid driver’s license and must meet the company’s requirements for driving.
- Some business units may require obtaining an interstate commercial driver’s license (CDL, Class B) within 90 days of hire.
Testing Requirements
- Stores Aptitude (STRS): Ability to understand mechanical concepts; visualize forms in space; compare details and identify similarities or differences.
- Materials Specialist & Storeroom Structured Interview (MATL-STRS): Competencies include decision making, building customer loyalty, managing work, safety awareness, work standards, and communication.
Pay
Starting pay is $27.17 per hour with regular increases per the bargaining agreement. The pay range for this position is $28.34 to $37.78, with the starting salary based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business needs.
