About the Role

What if your years of advanced study in material science could directly shape how AI reasons through some of the most complex problems in modern science? We're looking for Material Science experts — Masters and PhD holders — to work with cutting-edge AI research teams, helping train and refine AI models that tackle real-world challenges in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, and beyond.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for serious domain experts. No prior AI experience needed — your deep scientific knowledge is what matters.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and review advanced material science problems with genuine real-world relevance
  • Apply your specialist knowledge in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related areas to design complex, high-quality problem sets
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to sharpen AI model reasoning
  • Evaluate AI-generated scientific content for accuracy, rigor, and depth
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of scientific clarity and correctness
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Master's or PhD in Material Science or a closely related field
  • Strong expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or adjacent research areas
  • Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB for research or applied projects
  • Exceptional written communication skills with a sharp eye for scientific accuracy
  • Naturally detail-oriented and methodical in your approach to complex problems
  • Fluent in English

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
  • Background in applied research, industry R&D, or academic publishing
  • Experience reviewing or peer-evaluating scientific work
  • Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts as an end user
