About the role
The Material Planning Analyst will be based in Salt Lake City, reporting to the Manager. The role involves maintaining materials/purchasing data, supplying data and information to other production departments, coordinating contracts, maintaining certificates of conformance for all suppliers, and creating and maintaining outsourced parts schedules.
Responsibilities
- Assists in auditing data for accuracy and preparing summary reports, spreadsheets, graphics, and charts based on research.
- May assist in preparing recommendations to management based on data research.
- Collects, compiles, and presents various types of data.
- Prepares summary reports, spreadsheets, and charts from multiple sources, including customer bills of material reports, staff metrics, PPV metrics, and PPV form tracking.
- May create and/or maintain databases to support data collection.
- Audits data and resolves data integrity issues, including quotations.
- Proactively identifies and escalates potential issues related to metrics.
- Suggests process/communication improvements for metric tracking activities.
- Tracks materials financial performance and initiates corrective actions when required.
- Performs daily review of RMA transactions.
- Creates weekly purchase orders including all client parts.
- Handles receive data entry for clients, updates content lists, and item master.
- Prepares DPT packing lists for LCAD repairing.
- Manages window to client material (consigned parts) supply.
- Manages window to client bulk RMA service.
- May perform specialized duties such as inventory control, supply chain management, material planning, and scheduling.
- Develops commodity spend profiles/breakdowns, guides time profiling, inventory positioning, and site execution to price.
- Establishes common pricing research tools.
- Provides detailed bill of materials research by site.
- Performs general reporting and activities for score-carding of suppliers.
- Validates site pricing through a common cost review and pricing process.
- Assists in supply chain transfer and risk management for NPI.
- Provides PPV targeting, tracking, and asset velocity.
- Designs, manages, and controls all data research tools.
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in materials or a related field.
- A background in electronics manufacturing is desired.
