Material Planner

About the Role

This position analyzes customer demand material requirements, orders material from suppliers, and schedules material for production. You will work directly with suppliers and other Magna plants on material requirements, review materials planning, issue purchase orders, send forecasts, and track inbound material to ensure on-time arrival.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must currently reside within a commutable distance and be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review materials planning for assigned product groups, issue purchase orders to suppliers, send forecasts, and track inbound material daily.
• Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, hold supplier meetings, and communicate effectively regarding open purchase orders and delivery schedules.
• Participate in daily production meetings to communicate current inventory levels, schedule compliance, and other operating parameters.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
• Identify and escalate production issues that may impact output or quality.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production processes and reduce costs.
• Prepare management summary reports and trend charts detailing department key efficiency indicators.
• Analyze data to determine statistics and trends, and take appropriate action.
• Facilitate positive working relationships among support staff to foster a team environment.
