Full-time, regular position with the Department of Corrections.

About the Role

Positions in this job family are responsible for the management of all supplies and equipment from acquisition to disposal, supporting an institution or agency. Responsibilities include procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, delivery of materials, equipment, records, agency mail, and other supplies used in agency operations.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, issues, ships, and arranges materials, equipment, records, agency mail, and other supplies in proper locations using machinery as needed.
  • Provides centralized mail services and/or performs centralized printing functions.
  • Inspects items for conformance with specifications.
  • Conducts inventories, maintains records, files reports, and performs administrative duties.
  • Assists requisitioners in preparation of specifications.
  • Acts as liaison to the agency purchasing agent/Central Purchasing.
  • Supervises and trains subordinate personnel and edits requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Confers with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries, and acceptability of supplies.
  • Coordinates with other units/divisions to clarify policy, procedure, and determine status for service and support-related requests, including acquisition, storage, disbursement, and/or disposal of assets and records.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in receipt, storage, or stock handling work, issuance of material, customer service, or clerical office work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness and ability to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Ability to perform moderately heavy lifting or other manual tasks as required by the agency.
  • Capability to lift/carry 70 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and push/pull a maximum force of 40 pounds.
  • Selected candidates may be required to submit to a physical examination to verify the ability to meet physical requirements.
  • Some positions may be designated as safety-sensitive as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8.

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of simple arithmetic, English language, storage methods and procedures, inventory methods and techniques, warehousing practices, stock handling, operation of warehouse equipment, and stock identification methods.
  • Ability to write simple reports, follow oral or written instructions, establish and maintain effective working relationships, store and warehouse a variety of supplies, and maintain detailed inventory records.
  • Skill in operating a forklift.

Pay

$28,983.84 per year.
