Position Description & Qualifications
Location: Facility Services
Reports To: Assistant Director of Facilities Operations
Primary Objective: The Material Management Coordinator supports campus operations by managing the movement, storage, and tracking of materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Pick-Up & Delivery — Transport furniture, equipment, and supplies across campus and to/from local vendors.
- Move & Event Coordination — Complete and oversee work orders for moves, setups, and material handling.
- Local Purchasing — Pick up local purchases and assist with routine custodial supply procurement.
- Inventory & Storage Oversight — Maintain organized storage areas, track inventory, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Receiving & Distribution — Receive shipments, unload deliveries, verify contents, and distribute or store items.
- Custodial Equipment Support — Request new equipment, assist with minor repairs, and coordinate vendor service.
- Fleet Coordination — Track mileage, schedule service, and ensure vehicles are ready for use.
- Safety & Compliance — Follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with university and regulatory standards.
- Customer Service — Maintain positive relationships with campus departments and respond promptly to service needs.
Working Relationships
Collaborates with Facility Services staff, custodial teams, academic departments, administrative offices, and external vendors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Warehouse/Logistics Experience — Prefer 2–3 years in warehouse, shipping/receiving, or logistics.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic inventory/work-order software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
