Material Handling Specialist | 1st shift

Job Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move materials throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments while verifying quantities and material condition.
  • Supply fabrication and assembly areas with required materials, components, and hardware to support production schedules.
  • Transport and stage structural steel materials, Hardy Frame components, and finished products according to production requirements.
  • Perform inventory transactions using scanners and inventory management systems.
  • Conduct inventory counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Verify part numbers, quantities, and material identification before movement, storage, or shipment.
  • Organize and maintain inventory locations and storage areas using 5S and housekeeping standards.
  • Inspect forklifts and material handling equipment before use and promptly report equipment concerns.
  • Absorb and prepare Hardy Frame products for customer delivery.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance as an essential function of the position, including arriving on time, being present at the workstation at the start of the shift, and working overtime as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One to three years of manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, fabrication, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Experience in handling steel products, fabricated components, or manufacturing materials preferred.
  • Experience using barcode scanners, inventory systems, and production tracking software preferred.

Qualifications

  • Safety: Must have an outstanding safety record and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Participate in safety training and meetings.
  • Maintain clean and safe work area.
  • Report all injuries/accidents near misses immediately to supervisor or a member of management.
  • Report on all unsafe acts and conditions.
  • Use equipment and materials properly.

Skills & Abilities

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. One to three years of manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, fabrication, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Forklift operation experience preferred. Experience in handling steel products, fabricated components, or manufacturing materials preferred. Experience using barcode scanners, inventory systems, and production tracking software preferred.
