About the role
BlueLinx is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join their dynamic team at their distribution center. Ideal candidates should thrive in a team-oriented environment that prioritizes safety and quality service.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
- Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
- Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
- Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
- Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
- Absorb and assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.
Requirements
- One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
- Proficient and safe use of forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
- Safe work record and stable work history.
Qualifications
BlueLinx offers a fixed wage of $23.60 per hour, with a Monday-Friday workweek from 7am-4pm. Schedule

Pay
The fixed rate is $23.60 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
