Material Handler- Work hours are 4pm - 12:30am

About the Role

This is a 12-month contract position located in Sparks, MD, operating on a 2nd shift schedule (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM). The role involves wrapping and moving pallets, driving stand-up forklifts, and working in refrigerated sections.

You will use equipment such as forklifts, conveyors, cranes, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within a plant, office, or warehouse. The role may also involve maintaining records and adhering to quality guidelines under general to limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Move materials, parts, assemblies, and finished products within the facility.
• Work in refrigerated sections and other designated areas.
• Wrap and move pallets as required.
• Maintain records related to material handling tasks.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
• Perform tasks in a metrics-driven environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Zero to one year of warehouse or related experience and/or training.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain appropriate licenses, training, or certifications (e.g., forklift certification).
• Basic skills in material handling, logistics, or manufacturing production.
• Effective communication skills; ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English and perform basic math calculations.
• General computer skills.
• Must be a US Citizen, Green Card holder, GC EAD, OPT, EAD, or CPT.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, balance, climb, lift, crouch, reach, pull, push, grasp, talk, and hear.
• Frequent use of hands for fingering, handling, feeling, picking, or typing, which may include repetitive motion.
• Ability to lift and/or move over 50 lbs.
• Exposure to work near moving mechanical parts, extreme weather conditions, and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to high, precarious places and fumes/airborne particles.
• Work environment can be hot in summer (no AC) and cold in winter (limited heating).
• Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Pay

$16–$20 per hour.

Schedule

40 hours per week, 2nd shift (4:00 PM – 12:30 AM).
