Material Handler - Warehouse

About the Role

The objective of this role is to transfer material manually by hand, or utilizing a manual pallet jack or using a lifting device attached to a hoist as called out within the standard work. This includes operating sit-down, stand-up, and high-reach lifts.

Responsibilities

• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering a lifting device attached to a hoist.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices by hand as needed.
• Loads parts manually from racks, tubs, and/or bins in the warehouse to trays or racks kit carts.
• Follows a set route through the department to load kit carts.
• Loads and unloads parts manually from the paint line.
• Maintains safety checks on necessary equipment.
• Performs duties in a safe, efficient manner in compliance with safety rules and regulations.
• Uses an electronic scanner to transact material as needed.

Other Duties

• Keeps aisles clean and orderly.
• Assists in the instruction and training of others as requested by the supervisor.
• Completes preventative maintenance and other duties as directed by Total Production Maintenance.
• Performs other non-essential duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must be able to follow established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly.
• Must have the ability to work rapidly and under time pressure for extended periods.
• High School Diploma/Equivalent.
• 0-2 years of experience.
• The ability to communicate with supervisors and fellow workers in both written and verbal forms at a level normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent is required.
