Material Handler Trainee

About the role

This position is part of a trainee program designed to prepare the employee for a Material Handler role. The job entails working in a fast-paced production environment operating various powered lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, mobile cranes, and forklifts.

Responsibilities

• General movement, turning, or other lifting activities as directed by supervision utilizing overhead cranes and forklifts.
• Operate a remote overhead crane.
• Observe all workplace safety rules and regulations.
• Move various parts or components to the appropriate areas.
• Work and communicate with supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
• Inspect equipment and fill out service requests as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience with overhead crane equipment (preferred).
• Physical ability to stand, crouch, and lift objects throughout your shift.
• Strong communication skills.
• Forklift experience or a forklift operator license (preferred).
• Basic discipline aptitude/attitude.
