Material Handler - Raleigh, NC

About the role

We are looking for a Material Handler I to join our 1st shift team at our Wendell, NC location. This position is part of the Electrification & Automation (EA) Business Unit, which offers energy distribution systems and solutions for all markets. As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in the efficient movement of materials, supporting both current and future power distribution grids.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down forklifts in high-traffic areas and narrow aisles while unloading and receiving production materials and recording them in SAP.
• Count and verify incoming materials in the storeroom and accurately pick materials for internal and external customers using RF scanners.
• Efficiently pack and ship materials damage-free, load outgoing shipments, and ensure proper documentation is provided to drivers.
• Use small hand tools, including battery, electrical, and air-powered tools.
• Adhere to all safety rules, follow established processes and methods, and actively seek improvement opportunities.
• Work independently with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency; perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Management.

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in material management (warehousing).
• 2+ years’ experience driving a forklift, order picker, and stand-up reach truck.
• Ability to lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Basic proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Required: High School/GED

• Experience with SAP system (preferred).
• Experience with RF Scanner devices (preferred).
• Proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred).

Pay

Hourly Rate: $19.00

Schedule

Shift Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (1st shift)
