About the role

This is a night-shift position with 12-hour shifts on a 4-on/4-off schedule. The Material Handler supports the Mixing Department and Raw Materials Department by ensuring efficient material handling, safety, and housekeeping.

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example—promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Complete a Risk Assessment at the beginning of every shift.
  • Recognize and mitigate safety hazards and quality issues.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety practices in the work area.
  • Utilize RF Scanner to move materials upstairs in SAP.
  • Convey materials from storage, dock, or work sites to mixing lines.
  • Utilize the BDE system to upload rework when applicable.
  • Manage the collapsible bin staging area and stage material for the Grinders.
  • Band rework rolls or sheets using a bander.
  • Grind rework and record quantities in the grinding logbook.
  • Sift rework and record material sifted in the sifting logbook.
  • Pulverize rework and record material pulverized in the pulverizing logbook.
  • Pump liquids into liquid tanks and record activity in the liquid pumping logbook.
  • Record rework added to or removed from silos in the silo-filling and silo-unloading logbooks.
  • Unload materials from trucks and follow KP Policy on Dock Operation.
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials.
  • Stack materials to ensure an efficient work environment.
  • Utilize a bailer to band scrap Supersacks.
  • Clean work area, machines, and equipment to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
  • Complete inspection checklists prior to using fork trucks or walk-behinds.
  • Operate industrial fork trucks or walk-behinds to assist in loading or moving raw materials and rework.
  • Operate a Floor Sweeper at the end of every shift.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay

Starts at $18.50 an hour.
