Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate company box-truck in a safe and law-abiding manner to pick up and deliver material.
- Work within a fast-paced, production-oriented, safe environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. with the ability to ask for assistance when required.
- Able to properly use power industrial material handling equipment i.e. reach truck, forklift, and pallet jacks.
- Communicates with associates and superiors to maintain safety and quality.
- Willingness to follow the direction of the Supervisor and/or Group Lead.
- Suggests production and quality improvement ideas to the Supervisor and/or Sr. Material Handler.
- Performs daily activities using various computer programs i.e., SAP, WIP Tracker, Microsoft Excel, Bartender, BFI, Radio Frequency Scanners.
- Responsible for housekeeping in assigned work areas.
- Responds to customers internal/external in a timely fashion.
- Responsible for daily pickup and delivery of product.
- Responsible for safe operation of light duty box truck.
- Participates in weekly cycle counts.
- Completes and submits all required safety inspections by adhering to established timeframes.
Technical Expertise
- Good communication and telephone skills are required.
- Use of Power Industrial Equipment.
- Excellent basic math skills.
- Able to perform daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL Class C License with Air Brake Endorsement and a CLEAN Motor Vehicle Record.
- Valid DOT Medical Card.
- Must follow all published safety rules and perform job in a safe manner.
- Minimum of two years’ experience driving a light duty box truck.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Report all injuries, no matter how minor, to supervisor and/or Safety Manager immediately, filling out proper incident report form the same day as the incident.
