This position supports the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in a warehouse and records storage environment.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
Pay
$18.81 per hour plus additional Health & Welfare funds to apply toward benefits.

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- U.S. citizenship (contract requirement)
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check
Qualifications
- Ability to perform in a labor-intensive environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to lift boxes up to 30–50 lbs regularly
- Must be able to climb ladders to reach shelving up to 15 feet high
Responsibilities
- Locate containers or folders on shelving using pull lists or reports; retrieve from floor or shelving up to 15 feet high with a pulpit ladder
- Remove containers, verify accuracy of pull lists, mark discrepancies, initial documentation, and deliver to Point of Contact (POC)
- Stage containers or folders on streamliners in order, facing the same direction with identifying numbers visible
- Move records to Designated Disposal Review Area; palletize containers for disposal, label, stack, and shrink-wrap
- Confirm space requirements, load and transport records to assigned location, validate manifest, shelve non-disposable records, verify accuracy, and notify Quality when inspection-ready
- Retrieve batched requests, sign out batches in logbook, record start time and pertinent batch information
- Locate requested files/folders; search boxes, confirm single or multi-volume requests, pull files, add pulled-file markers, report “Not-in-File” or “Charged-Out” items
- Audit folders and non-fulfilled reference requests upon batch completion; sign in completed batches, record completion time, stage files for auditing
- Retrieve documents from containers, prepare for scanning by removing fasteners, verify document order
- Verify hardware settings and resolution; convert paper to digital images, inspect image clarity, rescan problem images, return documents to containers, and report issues to POC
- Use handheld mobile devices to complete basic data entry in spreadsheets, assist with box-list creation, data verification, and record daily project totals
