Pay

$22.00–25.00 per hour

  • Attendance Incentive – Up to $2,400 bonus for good attendance

  • Step-increase program – $0.50 raise after 90 days and again after 180 days
  • Additional $0.50/hr for certified Walkie Rider / Cherry Picker drivers

About the role

Maintain warehouse area with orderly stacking and good housekeeping; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded properly; perform material-handling services for warehouse shipping and receiving activities. Ensure Material Handlers operate forklifts and walkies safely at all times following all safety policies and procedures. Reports to shift supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Properly receive, unload, move, and tag incoming parts and equipment
  • Operate material-handling equipment and use RF scanner
  • Pull and stage parts for production; complete requisitions for parts shortages
  • Collect and properly package inventory and purchased items needing shipment
  • Comply with company safety policies while using lifting devices (forklifts, scissor lifts) and clean-initiative standards
  • Learn day-to-day warehouse operations
  • Verify orders are complete and accurate
  • Pick each customer order in the most effective manner to minimize shipping costs and ensure product safety
  • Work with a sense of urgency, accountability, and limited supervision
  • General understanding of computers and handheld RF equipment
  • Work as part of a team and lead when required
  • Read, write, and understand English
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Clear and concise communication, problem resolution, and people skills
  • Flexibility to work overtime and cover other shifts as needed
  • Experience on sit-down forklifts and walkies
  • Build pallets with stock and break down stock to fill independent orders
  • Cross-docking freight process experience
  • Work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

Requirements

  • 2–4 years in a warehouse environment
  • Good, stable work and attendance record
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Warehousing certifications a plus
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Lean Warehousing
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to determine root cause of problems and implement corrective action
  • Knowledge of business operating systems, internet software, word processing, and spreadsheet software

Physical Demands

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
  • Stand on feet for full shift (8 hours)
  • Work in excess of 8 continuous hours when required
  • Sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician; no evidence of controlled-substance use

Work Environment

  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles
  • Noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud
