Material Handler Intermediate

Processes a variety of transactions related to warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, issuing parts to jobs, physically moving parts, and inventory counts.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment. Unload trucks, inspect material for damage or defects, uncrate and assemble materials if needed.
• Prepare crates and other items to be shipped.
• Efficiently and independently process shipping / receiving / inventory transactions in computer system with minimal errors.
• Operate material handling equipment including hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, delivery vehicle, etc.
• May respond to after hours requests regularly on an on-call basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Comply with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory, and/or regulatory requirements at all times.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to perform all assigned duties.
• Demonstrate skills required to obtain forklift operator certification.
• Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area.
• Comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and PPE policies and procedures.
• Effectively demonstrate time management and organizational skills needed to complete competing tasks and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
• Read, write, and speak English.

Knowledge

• General knowledge of inventory processes including storing, receiving, packaging, preserving, issuing, shipping, or transferring, and inventory control.
• General knowledge of inventory parts used in assigned area preferred.

Minimum Education and Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License and good driving record.
• Forklift operator certification.

Minimum Experience

• Typically at least 2 years related warehousing and inventory experience.
• Experience with inventory management systems preferred, preferably with Oracle.

Physical Demands

• Must be fit for duty for the job tasks being performed. Refer to WorkSaver Systems Critical Demands for full details.
• Must meet the medical requirements necessary to wear PPE required by role.
• Constantly required to stand, display good manual dexterity, and to reach with hands and arms.
• Frequently required to talk and hear.
• Frequently required to walk with good balance.
• Regularly required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds.
• Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat.
• Occasionally required to crawl, climb in and around equipment, stairs, and slanted ladders.
• Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
