Responsibilities
- Receive, fill, and ship products accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all products are readily available to be filled and complete necessary paperwork.
- Perform various warehouse job functions including receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
- Operate power equipment (e.g., electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) safely and efficiently to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to correct storage locations daily.
- Stock, fill bin boxes, face cartons, check for product mixing, and rotate product where needed; monitor stock on shelves or bins; replenish stock from reserves; maintain control of products in reserve stock area or will call area.
- Receive product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.
- Inspect freight for damage and sign freight bills; verify quantity ordered versus quantity received; check all shipments against packing lists; complete necessary paperwork for reimbursements or discrepancies.
- Ensure all required products have verified bar code labels and readable Johnstone stock numbers by scanning products, printing labels, resolving labeling discrepancies, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Fill orders by picking products, packing items into cartons, stacking them in a manner that minimizes damage, entering items into scan gun, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Document the shipment of hazardous materials by labeling cartons correctly and completing necessary paperwork.
- Prepare orders by preparing trucks for shipments, palletizing and wrapping orders, loading pallets and pieces into trucks, placing packing list in last skid, and completing necessary paperwork.
- Maintain current accuracy and efficiency standards and follow all standard operating procedures.
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and other related projects in current location and/or the market as assigned.
- Maintain a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following safety rules, maintaining equipment, and maintaining a clean work area; promptly report any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
- Always wear protective equipment according to company policies and procedures; access Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed.
- Maintain required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications as needed.
- Maintain professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers; treat all customers and coworkers with a helpful and courteous attitude.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 0 – 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred: Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems. Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices. Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.

- Ability to read, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work safely in all job tasks.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, and maneuver large/heavy products or pieces of equipment while working within established safety guidelines.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

- Ability to complete routine paperwork.
- Ability to utilize necessary technology to complete tasks, such as RF equipment and ERP software.
- English proficiency (written and spoken) is a core requirement due to the nature of the work, safety regulations, and to ensure accurate communication and comprehension.
Physical Demands
- Required to sit, stand, and walk on a concrete floor for much of the workday.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Frequently required to lift and carry and/or move up to 50 pounds and required to lift more weight with mechanical assistance or the assistance of team members.
- For driving duties (if applicable), required to sit for long periods of time and can experience bouncing and vibration.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Special vision requirements: near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and color vision.
