Description The Material Handler/Class C Driver-Bobtail is responsible for moving materials safely and efficiently between warehouse locations, customers, and suppliers. This role includes receiving, storing, picking, loading, unloading, and delivering materials while maintaining accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS). The position operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and a Class C Bobtail truck to support daily warehouse operations and delivery schedules. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This role requires loading and unloading materials, completing local pick-ups and deliveries, maintaining accurate paperwork and inventory transactions, and providing excellent service to internal and external customers. The position also participates in a rotating on-call schedule with other drivers to support after-hours deliveries and transportation needs during weekdays, weekends, and holidays as required. Requirements Key Responsibilities Receive, inspect, verify, and process incoming and outgoing materials, inventory, and shipmentsLoad, unload, pick, pack, label, stage, and prepare materials for storage, transport, and shipmentOperate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficientlyProcess inventory transactions in the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and maintain accurate recordsPerform cycle counts, stock checks, inventory audits, and support physical inventory activitiesConsolidate inventory, pallets, and shipments to maximize efficiency and storage utilizationMeasure, weigh, and document materials and shipments as requiredPrepare, verify, and maintain shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory documentationIdentify and report inventory discrepancies, shortages, damages, safety concerns, or operational issuesSafely operate company vehicles, including a Class C Bobtail truck, to transport materials, equipment, and products as assignedComplete daily vehicle inspections and maintain required transportation documentation and logsAssist with route coverage, material transfers, and delivery activities as needed to support business operationsParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule to support after-hours transportation needs during weekdays, weekends, and holidays as requiredMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulationsCross-train in other operational functions and assist other departments as neededPerform other duties as assigned. Job duties and responsibilities may change based on business needs Abilities Works safely and complies with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsMaintains accuracy and attention to detail when handling inventory, documentation, and material transactionsPrioritizes tasks and performs effectively in a fast-paced environmentWorks independently with minimal supervision and collaborates effectively as part of a teamCommunicates professionally and provides excellent service to internal and external customersAdapts to changing schedules, priorities, and operational needsMeets delivery schedules and attendance expectationsParticipates in a rotating on-call schedule, including after-hours, weekend, and holiday support as requiredSafely lifts, carries, pushes, pulls, and moves materials in accordance with job requirements Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent requiredValid California Class C driver's license with an acceptable driving recordMinimum [X] years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or delivery experienceExperience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipmentExperience operating a Class C Bobtail truckKnowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, staging, loading, and shipping materialsExperience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory management processesProficiency in completing shipping documents, delivery records, inventory transactions, and other required documentationBasic computer skills, including data entry and inventory tracking systemsKnowledge of applicable warehouse safety practices and material handling procedures. Note: Driving responsibilities are currently required to support operational and material transportation needs. As business requirements evolve, driving duties may be modified, reduced, or reassigned, and the position may focus primarily on Material Handler responsibilities.
