Material Handler I

About the Role

Novolex is hiring Material Handlers. This role involves maintaining inventory accuracy, handling materials, and ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.

Pay

$20.01 per hour, plus a $0.75 per hour night shift differential. Pay is distributed weekly.

Schedule

7:00 PM – 7:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and friendly work environment.
• Accurately control inventory of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods, including requisitioning, receipt, storage, handling, scanning, and shipping.
• Account for all material movements, including in-plant product holds.
• Perform incoming trailer inspections as assigned.
• Read and understand written specifications, procedures, safety issues, and diagrams for proper packaging.
• Accurately control inventory throughout the entire process.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Forklift certification.
• Ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.

Essential Functions

• Work 12-hour shifts, standing and walking for extended periods.
• Climb and heed safety warnings, devices, and alarms.
• Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifts up to 65 lbs (requiring a two-person lift or mechanical assistance).
• Problem-solving and establishing cause-and-effect relationships in a manufacturing environment.
