About the role
The Material Handler is responsible for the movement, storage, and distribution of raw materials, parts, and finished goods within ENC’s bus manufacturing operations. The role will utilize forklifts, hoists, hand trucks and other handling equipment to move material within the storage facility. This role ensures that materials are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely and efficient manner, following all safety and quality guidelines. The Material Handler works closely with warehouse, production, and supply chain teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and support manufacturing schedules.
Responsibilities
- Pull and stage materials for production based on work orders and schedules.
- Load/unload/transport materials within the facility using forklifts, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.
- Accurately maintain and control replenishing of assembly materials through simulations, min/max, put away, ordering, and pulling kits based on sales orders and production schedule.
- Organize bins and work centers efficiently (label placement, consistent labeling, bin size, and utilization of floor space).
- Prepare for and participate in physical inventory.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Maintain accurate records of material transactions in the inventory system.
- Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with company policies.
- Work with warehouse and production teams to prevent material shortages and delays.
- Identify and report damaged or defective materials to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Deliver raw materials and components to production areas as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in material handling, warehousing, or logistics.
- Understanding of warehouse and inventory management principles.
- Knowledge of safe material handling practices and equipment operation.
- Knowledge of materials such as mild and stainless steel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems for tracking inventory transactions.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials safely.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position based in Riverside, CA and requires being 100% onsite. Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, tools, equipment, and varying temperatures. May involve working inside vehicle structures or confined spaces.
Pay
$20.00 - $23.50/hr
Schedule
Onsite from 6am - 2:30pm
