Material Handler I (1st Shift) - Rolling Stock - AH

About the role

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. This role supports a dynamic, high-energy warehouse environment, providing materials to production departments for manufacturing the best rail vehicles in the world.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety requirements, including use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Contribute to and maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
• Specific area or responsibility may include receiving, put away, picking, kitting, or delivery of material to production.
• Avoid damage to material during handling in the warehouse or delivery to production.
• Immediately notify supervisor of any quality or delivery issues.
• Use of powered industrial vehicles in the movement of material.
• Certification for use of some tools and equipment may be required, such as crane, forklift, order picker, scissor lift, and fall protection equipment.
• Meet production schedule for material delivery to production.
• Explain warehouse procedures and processes to fellow workers.

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED
• 1+ years previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• Basic English skills - ability to read and understand written instructions and effectively communicate verbally.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous Powered Industrial Vehicle certification.
• Frequent verbal communication is necessary; occasional tasks may involve detecting odors.
• Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required.

Skills

• Physical Demands: Standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using hands to handle objects or tools.

The pay range for this position is $17.00/hr - $20.74/hr per hour. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
