Material Handler - Guernsey

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks; move materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to and from site warehouse and staging areas using forklifts.
• Accept materials returned or removed from service.
• Receive, unpack, identify, inspect, mark, and store materials, tools, supplies, and equipment.
• Issue or stage requested materials, tools, supplies, and equipment; maintain appropriate records.
• Take samples of received material requiring tests and forward to laboratory where applicable.
• Prepare materials, tools, supplies, and equipment inventories.
• Visually inspect tools for safety requirements, completeness of accessories, and operability upon receipt; identify shortages and reorder internally as required.
• Prepare materials, tools, supplies, and equipment for shipment and prepare documents.
• Prepare and stage material for scrap or salvage as directed.
• Receive materials returned or removed from service and determine usability, need for reconditioning, or scrap.
• Perform routine clerical and computer tasks in support of primary duties.
• Work with plant personnel and procedures to assure control of tools and materials for storage and field use.
• Operate equipment such as forklifts, platform trucks, and automobiles to transport tools, material, and equipment.
• Perform duties in a safe manner; maintain good housekeeping and keep work areas orderly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficient in basic computer skills.
• Warehouse or inventory experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Ability to pass equipment certifications, such as forklift training.
• Dependable, willing to accept responsibility, and able to perform basic math functions.
• Regular attendance and diligent work habits required.
