Material Handler (Forklift Operator)

About the role

Lake Cable is seeking a Material Handler to join their team. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining production and distribution of products, ensuring timely delivery of materials and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Effectively drive a forklift in a safe manner.
• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory.
• Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
• Packs, crates, loads and secures product for shipment.
• Maintain materials for all machines for production lines.
• Completes yearly RCRA Hazardous Waste and DOT Initial Training/Annual Review.
• Handles hazardous materials safely and signs manifests for Hazardous Waste pickup and removal.

Qualifications

• Completion of High School, GED or equivalent.
• Forklift driving experience required.
• Understanding of ISO requirements pertaining to the production process.

Skills and Abilities

• Organization, deadline orientation, and time management.
• Self-disciplined to keep busy within the plant.
• May be required to work outside the normal scheduled business day.
• May be requested to perform over-time activities.
• Understands proper handling techniques to maintain product integrity.
• Understands inventory control to maintain FIFO if required.
• Understanding of the ISO requirements pertaining to the production process.
