Responsibilities

  • Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using pallet jacks, forklifts, trucks, tractors, overhead cranes, and other equipment.
  • Contribute to orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area.
  • Pick, verify, package, and load orders for shipment using provided documents and/or work orders.
  • Pick material needed for work orders in various departments and deliver to the accurate location.
  • Locate materials and supplies by correctly pulling and verifying items listed on production orders.
  • Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
  • Perform inventory control and accurately fulfill pick orders as required.
  • May assemble product containers or crates.
  • Manually lift, push, pull, and/or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Cross-train in other departments as needed for the business.
  • Maintain material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections as required.
  • Comply with departmental SOPs and ISO procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and policies.
  • Participate in Self-Managed Performance (SMP) and engagement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Perform to measured business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or vehicle to exact positions.
  • Ability to see details at close range and at a distance.
  • Ability to time movements or equipment in anticipation of changes in speed and/or direction of moving objects or scenes.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work on more than one task at a time.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively with fellow employees.
  • Maintain composure in stressful situations.
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
