Material Handler/Driver

Responsibilities

• Receives, fills, and ships products accurately and efficiently.
• Ensures the safe transporting and arrival of products, in a timely manner, to customers and other store locations.
• May be assigned all or some of the various warehouse job functions including but not limited to receiving, order fulfillment, product picking, wrapping and packing, stock replenishment, customer will call, and inventory cycle counts.
• Operates basic power equipment (i.e. electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) in a safe and efficient manner to locate, put away, stack, and move checked-in products to correct storage locations on a daily basis.
• Prepares orders by: preparing trucks for shipments; palletizing and wrapping orders; loading pallets and pieces into trucks; placing packing list in last skid; and completing necessary paperwork.
• Maintains current accuracy and efficiency standards and follows all standard operating procedures.
• Participates in inventory cycle counts and other related projects in current location and/or the market as assigned.
• Maintains a safe work environment by working in a safe manner, following safety rules, and maintaining a clean work area.
• Prompts reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors.
• Maintains professional communications when interacting with customers and coworkers.
• Serves as a key field contact for gathering accurate customer service and delivery expectations.
• Maintains cleanliness of inside of truck, cab, box, and all assigned work areas.
• Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned vehicle(s)/equipment; refers defects, issues, or needs for repairs to the supervisor promptly.
• Loads and unloads trucks. Checks and verifies deliveries against sales and transfer orders.
• Completes manifest with pictures, signatures, and any returns by way of iPad or manual completion.
• Records sales and/or delivery information as applicable.
• Completes monthly driver log and any associated paperwork; ensures the vehicle is secured.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; 1+ years of truck driving experience (26 ft vehicle or larger) or 1 year operating Johnstone equipment/vehicles under supervision; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience operating forklift and other warehouse equipment safely and competently.
• Previous experience with OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
