Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficent movement of materials throughout the facility. This role supports recieving, inventory management, warehousing, and shipping operations by operating material handling equipment, maintaining accruate inventory records, and ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The Material Handler also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficency and workplace safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Recieve, inspect, store and move materials in accordance with established procedures
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, tow trains, pallet jacks) safetly and efficently
- Pick, pack, stage, load and ship materials and products to support opperational and customer requirements
- Accurately process material movements and inventory transactions in company systems
- Maintain inventory accuracy through stock management, cycle counts, and physical inventory activites
- Support inbound and outbound logistics, including shipping, receiving, returns and reverse logistics processes
- Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, regulatory, and company requirements
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities to enhance safety, quality, and operational efficency
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Perfor other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of three (3) years of driving experience with a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain and maintain required material handling equipement certifications
- Must be a US Person (Citizen or Green Card Holder) or have the ability to obtain the neccessary Government licensing to work with controlled technology and products
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, shipping/recieving, inventory control, or material handling operations
- Working knowledge of vehicle safety systems, operating controls, and preventive inspection requirements
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including safe drving practices, inspections and vehicle maintenance standards
- Experience with operating forklifts, tow tractors, pallet jacks, or similar material handling equipment
- Strong attention to detial, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull and move materials throughout the workday, up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safety in warehouse and manufacturing environments
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions while maintain compliance with safety requirements
- Ability ro sit and remain alert while driving or operating equipement for extended periods of time, up to eight (8) as required
