Location: Columbus, WI
Shift: 1st (7am-3pm)

About the Role

This role involves loading and unloading inbound and outbound trucks, staging materials, managing raw material inventory, supplying machinery with materials, and labeling and warehousing finished goods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in training and actively practice the SPOT Safety Program to support a zero-accident workplace.
• Safely operate fork trucks (ride-on, scissor lift, and walk-behind).
• Service manufacturing machines with raw materials (film, boxes, adhesives, glue, paper, etc.).
• Remove, wrap, and store finished goods using pallet location information.
• Stage outbound shipments in an organized manner using release information.
• Communicate regularly with fellow Shipping/Receiving (S/R) employees.
• Load and unload freight as it arrives and leaves the facility.
• Recharge and maintain electric batteries on fork trucks.
• Accurately complete monthly cycle counts.
• Receive material using the AS400 system and create labels when requested.
• Organize and stack unused pallets.
• Maintain a neat and orderly S/R work area.
• Adhere to all company safety guidelines.
• Work all scheduled shifts and assigned overtime.
• Attend and participate in company-mandated meetings.
• Perform other assigned duties as required; business travel may be necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; previous manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers or employees.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and interpreting bar graphs.
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
• Frequently required to use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, and talk or hear.
• Regularly required to taste or smell.
• Manual lifting up to 50 lbs (refer to department-specific Job Hazard Analysis for restrictions).
• Specific vision requirements: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles (solvent-based inks).
• Frequently works in high, precarious places and may be exposed to electrical shock (authorized maintenance personnel only).
• Loud noise levels; hearing protection is mandated.
• Safety glasses and steel-toed shoes with anti-static discharge soles are required.
