Material Handler - Booneville, MS

Starting pay rate is $19+ per hour. Shift differential is an additional $1.00 per hour for 2nd Shift and $1.50 per hour for 3rd Shift.

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. *Saturday hours are generally 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

3rd Shift: Monday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. *Saturday hours are 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. or until sanitation is complete. Please note we have a Monday night start for 3rd Shift.

Saturday hours are dependent on production and staffing needs.

Responsibilities

• Opening product, feeding cheese onto state-of-the-art production line for wrapping and packaging, and adjusting cutting equipment.
• Compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, SQF, and established safety rules and regulations.
• Moving pallets, basic cleanup/sweeping, and assisting other positions as needed.
• Packing cheese product into boxes, stacking boxes on pallets, and inspecting packages and boxes for good seals and code dates.
• Understanding and utilizing box erecting, case sealing, and labeling equipment.
• Performing sanitation of the work area and equipment as needed.

Requirements

• Must be able to give and accept constructive criticism and work as a team player.
• Must be able to read and write English and perform basic math calculations.
• Responsible for maintaining a professional image with customers, peers, supervisors, and the public.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Education beyond High School would be a plus.
• Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would be a plus.
• Forklift experience is desirable.

Working Conditions

• Work inside a clean manufacturing environment.
• Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.

All work performed in excess of 8 hours in any work day or 40 hours straight time in any work week shall be compensated at the rate of time and one half your straight time rate.
