Material Handler
About the role
This position will be located onsite in Bridgman, MI. It is a full-time, long-term, contract role. You will report directly to a client supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check, inspect for breakage and apparent defects;
- Identify, count, weigh, sort, store and issue new, returned and reclaimed stores material, tools, supplies and equipment following specified procedures and complete related papers;
- Inspect, clean and operate manual and mechanical material handling equipment such as forklift, pallet jacks, assorted carts, lifts and automotive equipment;
- Travel to pick up or deliver material as assigned or deemed necessary with proper qualifications;
- Operate and clean machines such as cutoff saws, cable machine, foam packing machine, computerized labeling machine to cut, package, handle, or label material;
- Conduct physical inventory of materials and supplies and capitalized spare parts including reconciliation and adjustments of records and monitor shelf-life information;
- Receive, unload, store, issue, monitor, record amounts and keep accurate transaction records of bulk gasses, bottled gasses, chemicals and fuels, following prescribed procedures;
- Perform tasks associated with rotating Key Billet assignments, including Inventory, Pick/Reserve Stock, Shipping, and the sale of scrap or obsolete material;
- Help perform the necessary quality control tasks.
Key Qualifications
- A high school graduate or GED;
- Two years' experience in material handling or similar field desired but not required;
- Through the combination of education or experience, must have skills to perform the responsibilities listed above;
- Have the physical capabilities to perform the required work;
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to pass a DOT physical;
- Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing;
- A candidate local to the area, no relocation or per diem offered.

Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $20/hour to $23/hour.
