Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler position is an individual contributor in the Elkhart facility. This person must be a highly driven individual that will operate material handling equipment including machines like cranes, forklift, shag truck, and other material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate material handling equipment including machines like cranes, forklift, shag truck, and other material handling equipment.
• Operate a powered industrial truck (e.g., forklift) in all weather conditions (indoor/outdoor operation).
• Total compliance with all Company personal protective equipment policies.
• Observe and maintain all safety procedures, policies and regulations.
• Load and unload trucks, using a forklift and other material handling mechanisms.
• Transport products and materials within the plant and back and forth from yard to plant.
• Supplying manufacturing work stations from stored raw materials.
• Reporting damaged goods and material shortages and verifying inventory levels.
• Perform daily Cycle Counts as needed.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• An acceptable attendance and prior employment record.
• Forklift certification or the ability to acquire a forklift certification.
• 1 - 3 years of powered industrial truck (e.g., forklift) in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift, push and/or pull a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to physically lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED equivalent.

• Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment operating industrial trucks and equipment.
• Strong hands-on working knowledge operating machines in a production environment.
• Ability to physically lift, push or pull up to a maximum of 50 pounds.
• Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt and professionally communicate with a variety of people.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $25.35-28.40/hr.

Schedule

This is a weekend shift position (Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm).
