Responsibilities
- Execute safety standards
- Achieve daily productivity goals
- Meet quality requirements
- Perform routine maintenance
- Assist with non-routine maintenance
- Follow Triple-S safe methods of work at all times
- Advise supervisor of any unsafe conditions
- Safely and properly move steel to and from storage or production areas
- Load and unload materials using various equipment
- Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift material
- Guide loads and climb onto vehicles to tie down and release material
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet to heights of 5 feet
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding as needed
- Maintain and safely operate assigned tools and equipment
- Determine safety issues and report them promptly
- Maintain spatial orientation and awareness to safely move around work environment
- Attend all required company meetings
- Read and follow work orders or receive oral instructions
- Meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Plan and organize work activities independently
- Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques
- Maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
- Use basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Show strong customer relations skills
Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 25 feet to heights of 5 feet
- Ability to exert 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to safely operate various tools and equipment
- Ability to judge near and far distance to maintain awareness of ongoing work activities
- Ability to attend all required company meetings
- Ability to read and follow work orders or receive oral instructions
- Ability to meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the Company
- Ability to plan and organize work activities independently
- Ability to develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques
- Ability to maintain ongoing inter-department communications related to routing, safety, and customer relations
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
