Material Handler

About the role

This role will function as part of a team to coordinate activities within the various work areas. This position will communicate handling issues and take direction from the department supervisor on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory
• Limits materials and supplies by locating materials and supplies listed on production orders
• Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
• Determines materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units
• Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections
• Performs cycle counting to insure inventory accuracy
• Performs nonconforming material process including device master records (DMRs) and hold tags
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education
• 1 year experience of packing/shipping experience
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Forklift operator certified or ability to become certified
