Job Description
Performs physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfilments of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment.
Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Uses judgement requiring location and storage of items, proper packing, methods of movement of materials and release of materials.
Able to work independently as required.
May receive general supervision with little instruction on routine work.
Uses a variety of mobile equipment such as forklifts, walkie-stackers, handcarts, and power trucks to move materials, parts, assemblies and finished products or goods within the plant and warehouse.
Performs administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, staging and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process and finished goods), parts and supplies, to operators, workstations and distribution center.
Additionally hand loads carts/racks equipment and delivers to production areas.
Uses hand/or electric trucks including Forklifts, and Slip Sheeting truck and other motorized vehicles requiring licenses.
May prepare goods for shipment to the distribution center (Dumping of halbs).
Effectively works in a team setting, supporting team goals and objectives.
Makes effective decisions relative to position requirements.
Must be knowledgeable about the continuous inventory process.
Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP):
- Follows all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
- Follows all BD safety policies and procedures
- Capable of working overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
