Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Coordinates material movement between departments per routing requirements.
• Sorts questionable materials per Quality Control’s request.
• Prints and distributes pick tickets and performs computer transactions as necessary.
• Organizes sequence of pulling material and relays information to Material Support.
• Ensures production schedules are met by timely and accurate processing and movement of goods.
• Affords assistance during daily peak times to include operating material handling equipment and performing all necessary computer transactions.
• Ensures good communication and feedback with management, employees on their shift, and between shifts.
• Assists the supervisor/area manager with Continuous Improvement Projects, evaluation of new equipment, determination of training needs, and interviewing/hiring.
• Maintains shop floor control systems and follows all safety procedures, wearing proper PPE.
• Proactively identifies and corrects unsafe conditions.
• Studies systems and procedures for opportunities for improvement and proposes changes to Materials Manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
