3rd Shift 11:00 pm - 7:00 am, Sunday Night - Friday morning; Overtime as needed
Qualifications
- Qualified Sit-Down Propane Forklift Operator/Material Handler
- Strong organizational, teamwork, dependability, accountability, and self-starter skills
How You Will Contribute
- Complete and document a sit-down forklift inspection form before the start of the shift and when operating a new forklift.
- Verify counts as materials leave or enter the warehouse/production area.
- Work with shipping and receiving on incoming and outgoing materials.
- Ensure that all jobs are pulled and ready for the next shift’s production run.
- Ensure that all materials being removed from a production line are accurately recorded on the correct form, and that all materials have been properly banded and/or wrapped to ensure that they will “hold up” in the warehouse.
- Perform periodic routine maintenance checks on the lifts. Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
- Maneuver forklifts safely in busy industrial environments.
- Safely stack and unstack large quantities of goods onto shelves or pallets.
- Moving goods from storage areas to loading areas for transport.
- Unload deliveries and safely relocate the goods to their designated storage areas.
- Ensure that forklift driving areas are free from spills or obstructions.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Adhere to daily production schedule.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
What It Takes
- 2+ years’ experience as forklift operator in production or distribution environment.
- Able to read, write, communicate efficiently, and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
