About the role

We are seeking a full-time Material Handler at Garmin's location in Salem, OR. The role involves loading, unloading, inputting data, processing shipping, consumer and retail returns, tracking orders and other inventory movement, reboxing units for return to stock, and reworking/repairing product with accuracy while maintaining a safe and clean warehouse work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Flexibly perform warehouse functions including Raw Materials, Reverse Logistics and Finished Goods
  • Absorb inventory, transactions, and material movement
  • Pull/audit material as required for KANBAN, shop order, move order or sales order requirements
  • Issue/transact material requested through material withdrawal forms
  • Receive, transact, and sort inbound material
  • Replenish material into primary picking locations
  • Ensure FIFO and LIFO policies are adhered to as defined in departmental procedures
  • Operate Electronic Static Discharge (ESD) guidelines for static sensitive materials if applicable
  • Pack materials to ensure adequate delivery to internal/external customers
  • Perform cycle counts as required
  • Operate RF device to transact and move material
  • Meet quality/productivity metrics
  • Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe work environment
  • Follow Garmin’s Attendance Policy
  • Operate one or two pieces of powered industrial equipment safely/efficiently such as a dock stocker or powered pallet jack depending on departmental responsibilities
  • Bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility
  • Visually distinguish minor cosmetic imperfections and defects on Garmin products
  • Work variable and flexible hours including overtime
  • Adhere to cleanliness zone area requirements: This position requires Garmin provided personal protective equipment including SD shoes (Static Dissipative Footwear) to be always worn for an entire shift to minimize the risk of electrostatic discharge (ESD) and meet specified standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds while using safe lifting techniques, standing for an entire shift, and walking long distances throughout the facility
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Ability to use RF Scanner
  • Previous warehouse or related experience
  • Database experience including Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Previous Oracle Experience

  • Ability to accept responsibility for work assignments and job duties and to be held accountable for their successful completion
