Position Summary
The General Warehouse Associate is responsible for picking, scanning, labeling, moving, staging, replenishing, and stacking product. This individual is also responsible for counting and inspecting product and notifying leadership when there are damages or discrepancies. These Associates are accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and will be expected to perform all duties as assigned. As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Picking Responsibilities: Using a pallet jack to accurately pick orders to fulfill client demands, efficiently and accurately picking products and staging in the appropriate areas, stacking, packaging, banding, shrinking wrapping, and labeling products as determined by client requirements, processing all picking functions according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Quality Control Responsibilities: Using appropriate documentation to ensure that all products and orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly, verifying that products and/or orders meet quality standards, including reporting any damages or discrepancies, stacking, packaging, shrinking wrapping, and labeling products, processing all quality control functions according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Safety, Housekeeping, and Compliance: Executing all safety protocols, maintaining a clean, neat, orderly work area, assisting in security of the warehouse, complying with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/SDS Standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operating all equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following prescribed work methods, reporting equipment problems.
- Maintenance: Performing or assisting in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
- Other Duties: Working overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary, performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months experience working in a warehouse/logistics/distribution environment.
- Current or prior MHE certification.
Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Computer Skills: None.
- Language Skills: English (reading, writing, verbal).
- Mathematical Skills: Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform other duties associated with handling, storing, and distributing client products.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to accomplish job tasks in a timely manner.
- Adaptability: Ability to effectively adapt to change and thrive in a stimulating, fast-paced work environment.
