Material Handler

About the role

The Material Handler supports the manufacturing operation by accurately, safely, and efficiently moving and storing materials.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks with inbound and outbound materials.
• Inspects incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and damage.
• Accurately records material movements in the inventory management system.
• Moves materials to and from storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks using PIVs.
• Reports inventory levels, material shortages, and other issues to Supervisors.
• Performs all functions according to sound safety principles and company policies and procedures.
• Inspects equipment daily, per guidelines, prior to use.
• Completes all necessary paperwork and documentation neatly, timely, and accurately, including quality reports, timecards, etc. Enters data and maintains computer record information as directed.
• Assists with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of discrepancies.
• Supports continuous improvement initiatives and contributes to a team-oriented work environment.
• Communicates effectively across and within company departments.
• Maintains good housekeeping in the department.
• Monitors product constantly to ensure quality standards are met and rejects product that does not meet quality standards.

Requirements

• One year of material handling experience
• Must obtain Forklift Certification (training and certification provided)
• Must have a valid Driver’s License

• Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues, and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
• Customer service focus with the ability to build and maintain strong working and vendor relationships.
• Excellent work ethic – ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
• Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using a PC with computer software packages, including Microsoft Office.
• Able to deal effectively with various personality types and cultures.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule

Shift: Days Monday-Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
